Darrick Howard and Josh Wentz each scored twice as Duluth Marshall downed New Ulm 6-3 at the Hilltopper Holiday Classic high school boys hockey tournament Wednesday at Mars Lakeview Arena.
The victory was the sixth straight for the Hilltoppers (6-3), who play Superior at 1 p.m. today.
-- Taylor Olson scored twice in the second period as the Spartans topped Madison Edgewood 4-2. Joel Pettingill stopped 16 shots in net.
Duluth Central 4, Albert Lea 4
Mike Andrews scored twice in the third period, including with 52 seconds remaining, to give the Trojans a tie in the Kiwanis Holiday Festival in Rochester.
The Tigers won 1-0 in a shootout after a scoreless overtime, though the game officially ended in a tie.

Jayce Paulseth scored at the 12:27 mark of the third period and assisted on the Greyhounds' other two goals in the seventh-place Schwan Cup game at Brooklyn Park, Minn.

Adam Krause scored three of his four goals in a span of 5:08 of the third period as the Hawks broke a 3-3 tie to go undefeated in the Thief River Falls Tournament.
Jeff Paczynski added a pair of goals and Cody Christopherson had three assists for fourth-ranked Hermantown.

Julia Gilbert and Emma Stauber each scored twice in the first period and Alyssa Wargin and Nikki Mathews each scored two goals in the third period as Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall won a semifinal game in the Burnsville Tournament.
