Sophomore Anders Broman, who went over 1,500 career points last week, scored 35 points and had nine rebounds and eight assists to lead the host Lions to the win.

Girls basketball

Barnum 65, Floodwood 52

Jessica Newman scored a team-high 22 points and the host Bombers used consecutive 3-pointers by Caitlan Rodgers, Katie Myhre and Claire Rodgers at the eight-minute mark and win the Polar League encounter between top-10 teams.

Top-ranked Barnum improved to 5-0 and won its 26th straight game overall and 37th in a row in the conference.

Braham 83, Duluth East 52

Sophomore Rebekah Dahlman, on pace to set the state's all-time scoring mark, scored 41 points to surpass 2,000 for her career in the Bombers' nonconference home win.

Freshman Hailey Kontny's 28 points carried the visiting Spartans to the LSC win.
