Prep report: Duluth East shuts out Virginia in softball

Kohl struck out 12 and walked just one, while Ellie Mostrom drove in a run and Marjaana Dailey hit a pair of doubles.

Superior 11, Proctor 3

The host Spartans continued their display of power as Taylor Johnson and Jessica Lindstrom hit home runs in a Lake Superior Conference victory.

Kaitlin Heinen had three hits for Superior, which hit four homers in one inning Monday against Grantsburg.

Cherry 10, International Falls 0

Kacey Herring hit a two-run homer and Angel Dahl added a three-run homer in a five-run fourth inning and the Tigers cruised to the six-inning win.

Breann Gruenhagen added a homer and Abby Mayry hit a two-run double.
