Senior Connor Danielson netted a hat trick to lead Duluth East to a 3-0 victory over Coon Rapids in a high school boys soccer game Monday at East.
Danielson, who scored 10 goals last season, already has six this year as the Greyhounds improved to 2-0-1. Daniel Spooner stopped four shots for the shutout.

Elena Lushine and Cassie Chruscielski each had 10 kills and Faye Lafferty totaled 28 set assists as the visiting Greyhounds opened the season with a 25-13, 25-23, 25-20 win.

Kourtney Karppinen had 23 kills and Alyssa Johnson recorded 40 set assists as the Panthers won their first match as a combined school. AlBrook and Cotton consolidated, though the match was played at AlBrook's gym in Saginaw because the new school in Culver has yet to open.
