Duluth Denfeld scored all five goals in a 21-minute span of the first half to beat Cloquet 5-0 in a Section 7A high school girls soccer quarterfinal game Saturday at Public Schools Stadium.
Emily DesMarais, Cora Murphy, Jordan Maciver, Emily Wallin and Allyson Gronseth scored as the Hunters (11-3-3) avenged a 5-3 defeat to Cloquet (10-8) a week ago and earned a spot opposite top-seeded Chisago Lakes Area in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Megan Lazzaro stopped all five shots for the shutout.

The Wildcats (11-2-4) scored a pair of goals in each half to eliminate the Rails (7-11) in the 7A quarterfinals at Lindstrom, Minn.
Gwen Vitalis had both first-half goals and added a third in the 68th minute.

Hailey Hoff and Katrina Hedstrom scored in the first 25 minutes and Courtney Simmons made 11 saves to give the second-seeded Hawks (11-5-2) the win at home in a 7A quarterfinal.
Hermantown will host Esko-Carlton in a semifinal at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Kailee Katt broke a scoreless tie in the 67th minute and the host Eskomos survived a stellar goalkeeping performance by Lucy Bukowski to win the 7A quarterfinal.

Bukowski stopped 14 shots but it wasn't enough for the surprising Agates (4-13-1). Rachel Ofstie made three saves for Esko-Carlton (11-5-1).

Jamie Whitlinger netted two goals in the first half and Caroline Henderson and Alex Freeman ended any upset hopes with second-half strikes in the Greyhounds' Section 7AA semifinal win at PSS.
Freeman's goal was her Northland-leading 27th of the season.
No. 2-seeded East (11-7) will play either Blaine or Andover in the section final Tuesday.

The host Huskies ended the Greyhounds' season in the 7AA semifinals, winning on Emmanuel Ekunseitan's 55th-minute goal.
Daniel Spooner made four saves for East (12-4-2), which lost to Andover for the second time this season.
Proctor 2, Hermantown 1
Wyatt Lindberg and Fredy Benish scored second-half goals and the sixth-seeded Rails shocked the host Hawks in the 7A quarterfinals.
Charles Burns stopped 14 shots for defending champion Proctor (8-7-3), which advances to play a semifinal at Cloquet-Esko-Carlton at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Lumberjacks downed Duluth Denfeld 4-1.
Hermantown (10-7) ended the season on a four-game losing streak.
Duluth Marshall, a 4-1 winner over Hibbing, and Grand Rapids, which beat Chisago Lakes Area 3-1, meet in the other semifinal at 4 p.m. at Marshall. The Thunderhawks handed the top seeds a 4-0 loss less than three weeks ago.

Hermantown wins Esko Invite
Hermantown topped Greenway 25-9, 25-14 to take first place in the Esko Invitational on Saturday, capping a day in which the Hawks won all four matches.
Hermantown also defeated Moose Lake-Willow River, Cloquet and International Falls to reach the final. Greenway earlier had downed the host Eskomos 25-17, 25-22 in a battle of the News Tribune's Nos. 1 and 2 small schools.
