Senior running back August Marleau rushed 27 times for 233 yards and two touchdowns as Deer River (2-2 overall, 2-1 conference) defeated East Central (1-3, 1-2) 21-6 in a Great Polar Red Conference clash Saturday afternoon in Deer River.

Jayden Gangl's 19-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Trunt and subsequent two-point conversion toss to Trunt with 8:00 to play in the fourth quarter lifted the Titans past the host Hylanders in a nonconference game Friday night.

Columbia Heights jumped to 14-0 lead in the first quarter before Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin (2-2) mounted a comeback behind TD runs from Mitch Bonderson and Gangl.

Maddie Cranmer scored six minutes into the game off of a corner kick and that proved to be the game winner as Apple Valley defeated Duluth East Saturday in Duluth. Jenna Purdy hit the crossbar, but that was as close as the Greyhounds came.
