Hinckley-Finlayson earned its first high school boys basketball state tournament berth in school history and denied Cromwell-Wright its first trip in 22 years with a 72-40 victory over the Cardinals in the Section 5A championship game Friday night at Crosby-Ironton High School.

The Jaguars improved to 26-4 on the season, dropping Cromwell-Wright to 23-7.
