Gavin Rasmussen's tough-angle goal in the third period looked like it might give Cloquet-Esko-Carlton a boys hockey win over Hermantown on Wednesday night, but the host Hawks responded less than 20 seconds later with the equalizer, and the teams settled for a 2-2 overtime tie and a split of the Lake Superior Conference title.
Hermantown's Ben Siljendahl forged a 2-2 tie by scoring off the faceoff 17 seconds after Rasmussen notched his second goal of the night.
Darian Gotz had the Hawks' other tally, which came during a second-period power play.
The Lumberjacks amassed a 41-30 advantage in shots on goal in their regular-season finale. Hermantown, meanwhile, ends the regular season tonight vs. Grand Rapids.
