Prep report: Carlton, South Ridge advance in volleyball playoffs

Carlton (26-5) advances to meet South Ridge in Saturday’s 4 p.m. final at Duluth Denfeld.

Justice Janke totaled 24 kills and Mallory Thibault added 16 kills and five blocks to lead the Panthers to a 25-20, 26-28, 25-19, 25-11 victory over the Nighthawks in the other 7A semifinal at Grand Rapids.
Mikayla Olesiak had 39 set assists and was a perfect 21-for-21 serving.
South Ridge improved to 25-3 with their sixth consecutive win, though one of their losses came to Carlton in a Sept. 2 match.
