Prep report: Bischoff continues hot start in GRG win

Eighth grader has six points in 6-0 win over Duluth to give her a state-leading 21.

Eighth grader Mercury Bischoff, the state's leading scorer, tallied four goals and two assists to lead Grand Rapids-Greenway to a 6-0 victory over the Duluth Northern Stars in Lake Superior Conference girls hockey action Monday night at Essentia Duluth Heritage Center.

Goaltender Makenzie Cole stopped all 17 shots as the Lightning improved to 4-1.

BOYS HOCKEY

Superior 5, Proctor 0

The visiting Spartans totaled 45 shots on goal and goalie Trevor Soderlund made 14 saves as Superior won the LSC matchup.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Esko 79, Cloquet 47

Eli Blue scored 22 points and made five 3-pointers and Jonah Randa had 19 points to lead the visiting Eskomos to the nonconference win.

MLWR 94, Ashland 63

Mason Olson (26) and Brady Watrin (22) combined for 48 points in the host Rebels’ nonconference win.

Moose Lake-Willow River, which made 13 3-pointers, improved to 4-0.

Deer River 90, Greenway 47

Ty Morrison scored 25 points and made five of the Warriors’ 11 3-pointers to win the Iron Range Conference game.
