The Ashland girls tennis team claimed its second consecutive Lake Superior Conference title after topping Cloquet-Esko-Carlton 5-2 on Saturday.
The Oredockers, who dropped their No. 1 and 2 singles matches but swept the rest, have not lost an LSC pairing during the past two seasons and will put that record on the line Tuesday against Superior.

Duluth East 2, Apple Valley 0
The Greyhounds extended their winning and shutout streaks to three games by shutting out the Eagles at Duluth East Saturday. Alex Freeman scored goals from Caroline Henderson and Michelle Stingle in the second half. Sarah Lyle had five saves in the shutout.

Juniors Matt Welch of Proctor and Marisa Shady of Esko placed second in Class AA races Saturday in the Milaca (Minn.) Mega Meet.
Charlie Lawrence of Foley won the Class AA boys 5,000-meter race in 16 minutes, 2.7 seconds, Welch was next in 16:04.5, and senior teammate Romeo Benish was third in 16:20.6 and Esko senior Jackson Lindquist fourth in 16:32.8. The Esko boys were fourth in the team standings and Proctor 11th.
McKenzie Holt of St. Cloud Christian won the girls 4,000 meter race in 14:46.9 and Shady was next in 14:58.8. St. Cloud Cathedral won the team race with 55 points and Esko was second in 70.
