Prep football playoffs: Two Harbors ousts Eveleth-Gilbert

Senior running back Cole Myrdal rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns to lead Two Harbors to a 48-14 victory over Eveleth-Gilbert in the first round of the Section 7AA football playoffs on Tuesday in Two Harbors.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Rails offense scored 35 points in the final three quarters to topple the Mustangs for the quarterfinal victory in Proctor. Kaz Anderson rushed for two TDs and threw for another to lead the Rails.

Proctor (6-3) tallied 281 rushing yards on 54 carries while holding the Mustangs (3-6) to 122 rushing yards on 30 attempts. Tyler Schubert had 107 rushing yards, while Anderson rushed for 77 yards and passed for 39.
