Mountain Iron-Buhl has burned up several scoreboards across the Iron Range, and Friday, they took their offensive juggernaut to Aurora with similar results.
The Rangers (9-1) scored 52 points in the first half en route to a 66-20 win over Cherry in a Section 7-Nine Man final Friday at Mesabi East High School.
Asher Zubich threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more in the first half as MI-B carried a 52-6 lead into the break, while Damian Tapio had a touchdown reception and a short run for six in the first quarter alone.
They'll play Thursday night in Grand Rapids against Fertile-Beltrami, the Section 6 winner in a state quarterfinal. It's MI-B's third section title in four years (the 2020 title game in Section 7 was not played due to COVID-19).

The Lions earned their first trip to the state tournament since 1992, dumping the Panthers in a championship game in Esko.

A 50-yard pass on the second play of the game set the tone for the 7-3 Lions, who improved upon a 20-12 decision in the teams' first meet on Oct. 1.
Ogilvie will play the Section 8 champion in a state quarterfinal on Friday in Moorhead.
South Ridge ends its season 4-5.
