A lack of players has forced Chisholm to pull the plug on its 11-man high school football season this fall, according to athletic director Mark Morrison.

Instead, the Bluestreaks will play a modified nine-man schedule, starting with a home game Saturday vs. Ely. That'll be it until Weeks 7 and 8, when they end the year with two more nine-man contests.

Chisholm had competed in nine-man until bumping up to Class A in 2015. And the Bluestreaks were optimistic after putting together a respectable 7-12 record over their first two seasons in their new classification. But they struggled to an 0-8 mark a year ago.

Chisholm already had forfeited its opener last week against Braham.
