Jordan Glenz blocked eight shots and came up with 12 digs Tuesday night as the Verndale Pirates opened their 2013 season with a 3-0 victory over Parkers Prairie.
The Pirates edged the Panthers 25-23 in the first game but went on to rout Parkers 25-10 in Game 2 and 25-16 in Game 3.
Shania Glenz led the Pirates with eight kills while Jordyn Glenz contributed six and Krista Dailey recorded five.
Sarah Moenkedick had 10 digs for the Pirates.

Elyssa Kern led Verndale with 14 set assists.
The Pirates, who are coming off a 20-10-1 season and have seven returning starters and letterwinners on the squad, will travel to Swanville Tuesday.
