After a malfunctioning chairlift forced the closure of the Chester Bowl ski hill last week, the system is back in action. Chester Bowl reopened to skiers and snowboarders this week.

The operation will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, in keeping with its normal schedule, but the hill will resume activity as usual on Thursday evening.

After problems arose with the lift Monday, Feb. 3, Chester closed. Repairs were made, and the hill briefly reopened Thursday, Feb. 6, but problems redeveloped, prompting the suspension of operations again. With the help of a city electrician and lift technicians from Spirit Mount and Mont Du Lac, Chester Bowl was able to finally isolate and repair the issue.
