Duluth Audubon Society offers Superior Entry Gull Watch, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Nov. 3, as well as Nov. 10, Nov. 24 and Dec. 1. Meet at the Superior entry Breakwall (very end of Wisconsin Point). Gulling could last between 2-4 hours, depending on the gulls. Bring cameras, binoculars and spotting scopes. If possible, bring one loaf of bread or more for the gulls. Dress for the weather. Courage Kenny Northland is seeking skiers and snowboarders to join our team of over 100 volunteers. No prior teaching experience necessary. New volunteers are paired with experienced volunteer instructors, with a typical ratio of 2-3 volunteers per student. Our participants range from 6 to 60+ years of age. You will receive complimentary lift tickets while volunteering, however you do need to provide your own equipment and helmet. Starting age to volunteer is 16 years old. The program runs from Jan. 7-March 5. Volunteer training offered:
- New Volunteer Orientation (Dryland): 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, Spirit Mountain
- On the Hill Training: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 14-15 at Spirit Mountain or 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 4-5 at Giants Ridge, Jan. 4 & 5
