Curling: Dropkin helps US reach worlds

Team USA, which included Duluth resident Korey Dropkin, secured a spot in the 2019 World Men's Curling Championship by winning the Americas Challenge on Sunday in Chaska, Minn.

Skip Rich Ruohonen and the American men went 4-0 during the competition, beating Guyana 9-3 on Sunday at the Chaska Curling Center, to join Canada as the two countries set to represent the Americas Zone at worlds next spring in Lethbridge, Alberta.

The U.S. team will be determined based on performances on the World Curling Tour and the 2019 National Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich.
