Northwoods' Youngstrom passes 2,000-point career scoring mark

Darby Youngstrom scored 26 points to surpass the 2,000-point milestone and lead ninth-ranked North Woods past Barnum 70-36 in high school girls basketball action Tuesday night outside Cook.

Youngstrom, who joined her older sister Emily in the exclusive club, now has 2,016 career points to rank 12th all-time among Northland scoring leaders. The sisters are just the third duo in Minnesota annals to each score more than 2,000.

Destinie Villebrun added 23 points for the Grizzlies (18-2), who led 38-9 at halftime en route to their 12th consecutive victory.
