The Duluth Huskies were unable to climb out of a four-run hole on Monday, falling to the St. Cloud Rox 4-2 in Northwoods League baseball action at Wade Stadium.
The Rox scored two runs in the first and two more in the fourth before the Huskies finally responded with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Hudson Sapp led the Duluth bats going 2-for-4 with a home run in the sixth inning. He also scored for the Huskies in the sixth inning via a bases-loaded walk after getting on base via a lead-off single.
Caleb Gallant took the loss on the mound for the Huskies, giving up four runs — three earned — off two hits with four walks and two strikeouts.
The Huskies hit the road Tuesday to play the Eau Claire Express at 6:35 p.m. in Eau Claire.
