A fast start offensively fizzled for the Duluth Huskies on Friday in St. Cloud, leading to an 8-3 loss to the host Rox at Joe Faber Field on Friday, July 2, 2021.

Duluth scored twice in its first at-bat, and after surrendering two runs in the bottom of the inning, took the lead again on a Xavier Carter lead-off homer in the second inning. St. Cloud took the lead for good with five runs on five hits in the fourth inning, which proved to be the end of the game's scoring.

Mike Boeve went 2-for-4 with a stolen base for Duluth (11-20). Bobby Goodloe went 2-for-5 and drove in three runs for St. Cloud (23-8), which got five innings of scoreless relief from winning pitcher Nathan Culley.

The same two teams meet again today, this time at Wade Stadium in Duluth, at 3:05 p.m.
