Northwoods League: Duluth Huskies sweep in La Crosse

First sweep of the season for Duluth capped by a 7-2 win on the road.

It took a month, but the Duluth Huskies finally picked up their first sweep of the 2021 Northwoods League season on Thursday via a 7-2 road win over the La Crosse Loggers.

First baseman Mike Boeve led the Huskies at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double and RBI. Boeve was one of six Huskies to drive in a run Thursday.

BOX SCORE: Huskies 7, Loggers 2

Duluth, which won 6-3 on Wednesday in La Crosse, had 11 hits, but also took advantage of five errors by the Loggers.

Jonny Guzman picked up the win for the Huskies on the mound, giving up one run off three hits with three walks and six strikeouts.


The Huskies remain on the road Friday to take on the Rox in St. Cloud. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
