CARRINGTON, N.D. - A hunter was injured Saturday morning in an accidental shooting in eastern North Dakota, officials said.
Foster County Sheriff Michael Tufte said a waterfowl hunter was accidentally shot in the lower abdomen after a deer hunter shot at a buck that was running toward the area where the waterfowl hunters were concealed.
The waterfowl hunters heard the shooting and were putting on blaze orange clothing to become more visible when one of them was hit, Tufte said. The hunter was taken to a hospital in Carrington and then transferred to Fargo, the sheriff said.
Tufte said it didn't appear the injury was life-threatening.
The accident remains under investigation. No further details were available Saturday afternoon.
