Drag racing: Line runner-up in NHRA opener

Jason Line of Wright reached the finals of the Pro Stock division Monday before losing to Bo Butner in the season-opening National Hot Rod Association Winternationals at Pomona, Calif.

The matchup was a rematch of the 2018 Winternationals final won by Butner over his teammate.

Butner was timed in 6.522 seconds at 211.59 mph on the quarter-mile track for his eighth career victory. Line, after winning three head-to-head matches, faltered in the final (7.160, 148.58).

Duluth's Greg Anderson had trouble with his Chevrolet Camaro in the first round, taking nearly a minute to limp across the finish line.
