Moline advances to Northland semifinals

Three-time defending champion Dan Moline of Duluth advanced in the 87th Northland Invitational men's match-play tournament Saturday with a 6 and 5 quarterfinal win over Andrew Krasaway of Hermantown at Northland Country Club.

Three-time defending champion Dan Moline of Duluth advanced in the 87th Northland Invitational men's match-play tournament Saturday with a 6 and 5 quarterfinal win over Andrew Krasaway of Hermantown at Northland Country Club.

Moline faces former University of Minnesota golf captain Phil Ebner of Minneapolis in today's 8 a.m. semifinals. Ebner eliminated Dave Steingart of Edina, Minn., 1-up in 19 holes. Moline has won 18 straight matches over four years in the tournament.

Medalist Alex Kolquist of Hermantown defeated Cordell Mack of Chaska, Minn., 2 and 1. Kolquist, a Gustavus Adolphus senior this fall, meets former Gustavus player Jordan Hawkinson of Grant, Minn., in the semifinals.

The title match is 1:30 p.m.

In the Senior Division semifinals, Pat Vincelli meets Bob Seitz, while Steve Kranick plays John Hawkinson.
