The Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage council recommends fish, game and wildlife projects totaling $68 million in funding generated by the state's Land, Legacy and Clean Water constitutional amendment.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources considers an October firearms deer season in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness but drops the idea after negative public reaction.
