The Minnesota Lynx snapped a three-game losing streak with a 91-68 victory over the San Antonio Stars on Saturday night at Target Center in Minneapolis.
Natasha Howard came off the bench to score 21 points for Minnesota (14-3), which shot 52.3 percent from the field. Maya Moore and Jia Perkins scored 14 points apiece, Lindsay Whalen added 12 and Rebekkah Brunson had eight points and 12 rebounds.
Kayla Alexander scored 11 points for San Antonio (4-13), which was held to 33.3 percent shooting from the field. Moriah Jefferson finished with 10 points.
The score was tied with 3:36 remaining in the first quarter, but the Lynx ended the quarter with a 9-2 run to take a 19-12 lead. They extended their lead to 10 early in the second quarter, went up 35-20 on a layup by Seimone Augustus and carried a 47-28 lead into the break after ending the half with a 10-2 run.
Minnesota continued to build on its lead in the third quarter. The Lynx went up 54-30 on a layup by Whalen, opened a 62-34 lead on a basket by Howard and led 73-43 entering the fourth quarter.
