Local golf: Sundbom, Barschdorf take Hank Jensen crown

The win continues a near clean sweep of the Northland's top local golf tournaments in 2021 for the Hermantown alum.

The duo of Taylor Sundbom and Steve Barschdorf won the 38th annual Hank Jensen Two-Man Best-Ball/Scramble on Sunday at Enger Park Golf Course.

Sundbom/Barschdorf shot a 126 with 63's in both the Saturday and Sunday rounds to finish a shot ahead of Matt Mellin and Bob Seitz, the 2020 champions.

Sundbom, a Hermantown High School alum, defeated Mellin in the match play final of the Northland Invitational in August, and won the Arrowhead Invitational (Ridgeview Country Club) and Cloquet Invitational (Cloquet Country Club) in July.

The event featured 63 teams.
