Kleinendorst named Junior assistant

Grand Rapids native Kurt Kleinendorst, named Iowa Wild coach earlier this week, will serve as an assistant coach for USA Hockey's National Junior Evaluation Camp next month in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Grand Rapids native Kurt Kleinendorst, named Iowa Wild coach earlier this week, will serve as an assistant coach for USA Hockey's National Junior Evaluation Camp next month in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Kleinendorst and Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper will aid University of Minnesota coach Don Lucia, who will coach the team at the 2014 World Junior Championship.

Among the 44 players invited to the camp, which will be held Aug. 3-10, is Minnesota Duluth freshman forward Dom Toninato of Duluth East.
