Jonathan Bendorf had two goals and an assist, including a goal to help ice it at 5:49 in the third period as the Aberdeen Wings held on for a 4-2 victory over the Minnesota Wilderness in a North American Hockey League game Saturday night before 1,182 at Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen, S.D.
After a scoreless first period, Bendorf opened the scoring at 4:51 in the second before Landon Langenbrunner of Moose Lake knotted it up four minutes later.
Riley Murphy and Peter Morgan scored late in the second to give the Wings a two-goal lead before the Wilderness’ Aaron Myers scored just 3:08 into the third on an assist by Dylan Johnson of Cloquet.
That’s as close as Minnesota would get, however, as Matt Vernon had 20 saves for Aberdeen as the Wings earned the weekend sweep.
Kaleb Johnson had saves 37 for the Wilderness.
