Nick Altmann of Duluth scored his 10th goal of the season midway through the second period to trim the deficit to 2-1 before the Wings' Nic Sicoly restored the two-goal advantage with 1:20 left in the period.

The Wilderness' Ondrej Trejbal closed the gap again at 15:16 of the third but Aberdeen hung on.

Minnesota goalie Ryan Fanti stopped 37 shots.
