Junior hockey: Wilderness win home debut

Nick Altmann of Duluth and Ben Ward each scored two goals to lead the Minnesota Wilderness to a 5-4 victory over the Bismarck Bobcats in a North American Hockey League game Friday night in the team's home opener at Northwoods Arena in Cloquet.

Ward tied the game at 1-1 in the first period and then netted the game-winner 12:44 into the third period.

Altmann scored back-to-back goals midway through the second period after Bismarck had taken a 3-2 lead.

Isaac Kobienia had the other Wilderness goal while goaltender Trevor Micucci made 21 saves.

Former Hibbing goalie Ryan Ullan made 33 stops for the Bobcats.
