The Minnesota Wilderness topped the Austin Bruins 3-2 in a shootout on Thursday in North American Hockey League play at Northwoods Arena in Cloquet.
The Wilderness (6-3) rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period with Kimball Johnson scoring his first goal of the season 1:10 into the third. Nate Horn tied the game at 2-2 with 2:32 to play in regulation.
Wilderness goaltender Kaleb Johnson stopped 36 of the 38 shots he faced and shutout the Bruins (5-2) in the shootout.
Zach Michaelis scored the lone goal of the shootout in the fourth round.
Ben Almquist finished with a goal and an assist for the Bruins, who went up 2-0 in the first period.

The Wilderness are on the road Friday at the St. Cloud Blizzard before a rematch Saturday with the Bruins in Austin.
