Junior hockey: Bismarck skates past Wilderness

Bobcats win first of two-game NAHL series.

Bismarck scored the first two goals and put away the Minnesota Wilderness with three more second-period goals in a 5-1 North American Hockey League victory Friday night in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Ryan Taylor opened the scoring with his 19th goal of the season and Braden Costello made it 2-0 minutes later.

Grant Docter scored the Wilderness’ only goal — his team-high 17th — on a first-period power play.

Lars Rodne, Grant Ahcan and Eddie Shepler all scored in the second period for the Bobcats.

Bismarck goaltender Ian Shane stopped 27 of 28 shots.


The teams square off again at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Bismarck.
