Junior hockey: Austin ends Wilderness' season

The Austin Bruins overcame an early deficit to defeat Minnesota 5-3 on Saturday night at Northwoods Arena in Cloquet, ending the Wilderness' North American Hockey League season in Game 4 of a best-of-five, first-round playoff series.

Nathan Horn scored 4:00 into the game to give the Wilderness an early advantage before Evan Cholak and Dante Sheriff gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead before the end of the first period.

The teams traded goals in the second period before Austin sealed matters with goals by Dante Zapata and Valdemar Ahlberg in the opening six minutes of the third period.

Alex Spencer brought Minnesota within two goals at 17:59.

Winning goaltender Alex Schilling made 20 saves, while Ryan Fanti of the Wilderness had 19.
