Junior hockey: Aberdeen overwhelms Wilderness

ABERDEEN, S.D. — The Minnesota Wilderness outshot Aberdeen by nine shots in the opening period of an NAHL game on Friday, but the Wilderness couldn't find the net.

After that point, it was all Wings. Aberdeen outshot Minnesota 34-11 over the final two periods and won 5-2.

Aberdeen's Zach Aughe had a goal and an assist and was among five Wings goal scorers. Minnesota got goals from Zach Michaelis, Lewis Crosby and Mitch Allard.

The teams play again at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Aberdeen.
