Eighth-inning RBIs from Nolan Johnson and Austin Christensen gave Duluth a 4-2 win over Green Bay and snapped the Huskies’ five game losing streak in front of 1,257 fans at Joannes Stadium in Green Bay, Wis.
Alex Michaels and Johnson were both 2-for-4 and scored a run for the Huskies. Pitcher Alex Winkelman allowed five hits and struck out six over 6â…” innings.
Duluth won despite three more errors in the field, a problem that has plagued the 9-25 Huskies for much of the first half of the season. Both runs for Green Bay were unearned as a result of the errors.
Matt Beaty was 1-for-4 for the Bullfrogs with a double and scored each of Green Bay’s runs.
Duluth will complete its two game set against Green Bay today, before traveling to Thunder Bay to close out the first half of the season on Monday.
