ALEXANDRIA, Minn. -- Zeke DeVoss went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBIs as the Duluth Huskies had a season-high for runs in rolling to a 15-7 Northwoods League baseball victory over the Alexandria Beetles on Thursday before 764 spectators. The Huskies (12-11) snapped a two-game losing streak while avoiding the series sweep.
DeVoss had one of seven home runs hit in the game, including five by Duluth as Pete Cappetta, Mark Threlkeld, Jo Jo Sharrar and Kyle Roliard also connected. Duluth had 15 hits.
Infielder Kyle Erickson of Minnesota Duluth was 3-for-4 with three runs to raise his average to .372, while his Bulldogs teammate Anders Engberg (1-1) got the win, allowing just four hits and one run in six innings.
Duluth plays at Brainerd at 7:05 p.m. today before returning home to play the Lunkers on Saturday and Sunday at Wade Stadium.
