The Northwoods League unveiled its 2014 schedule Monday, and the reigning North Division champion Duluth Huskies open May 27 with a two-game home series against Willmar.

The Huskies have a schedule that is front-loaded with home games as 20 of their first 32 are at Wade Stadium.

After going from 16 to 18 teams with the addition of franchises in Kenosha, Wis., and Kalamazoo, Mich., the league will increase season schedules by two games, from 70 to 72.

The first half of the season ends June 30, and the All-Star game, which will be hosted by the Lakeshore Chinooks, is July 22. July 30 features a bit of an oddity as the Huskies and Thunder Bay play a split doubleheader. The two teams will meet in Thunder Bay at 12:05 p.m. before traveling south for the 7:05 p.m. nightcap.

Playoffs start Aug. 11.
