Catcher Chris Harvey led an offensive barrage with three hits and three RBIs as the Duluth Huskies rolled to a 14-7 victory over the Rochester Honkers in Northwoods League baseball on Wednesday night before 806 at Wade Stadium.
Harvey, of Vanderbilt, had a double and also scored two runs. He was one of four Huskies with three hits, joining Michael Suiter, Brad Wilson and Conor Szczerba. Suiter scored three runs. Nine Duluth players had hits as the Huskies finished with a season-high 18 hits. Nine also scored runs and eight had RBIs as Duluth (5-2) kept the Honkers (0-7) winless in the second half.
Almost overshadowed, Huskies starter Parker Trewin of North Dakota State allowed three hits and no runs in six innings to get the win. Defensively, Duluth didn't make an error in the field.
Rochester right fielder Max Murphy had a double, home run and four RBIs -- all in the ninth inning -- as the Honkers scored seven runs in the final frame after scoring no runs through the first eight.
The same teams play at 6:35 p.m. today at Wade Stadium.
