The Mankato MoonDogs beat the Duluth Huskies 3-2 in 14 innings on Tuesday at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato, Minn., to complete a Northwoods League game suspended by rain on June 21.
Tuesday's game started in the bottom of the ninth inning with the teams knotted at 2. It remained that way for five more innings as Duluth's Alex Kent and Mankato's Adam Jung were solid in relief and the teams combined to strand 27 base runners.
Outfielder Jimmy Patterson was 3-for-7 with a run and RBI to lead Mankato. Catcher Nick Rickles was 3-for-5 to lead Duluth.
-- The second game of Tuesday's doubleheader wasn't completed when this edition went to press. The Huskies scored five runs in the top of the 11th inning to take a 10-5 lead.
The same teams rematch at 7:05 p.m. today in Mankato.
