Minnesota Duluth has received a verbal commitment from a goal scorer and high school state champion swimmer out of Michigan.
Mckenzie Siroky of Livonia, Michigan, announced her commitment to the Bulldogs for the 2023-24 season on Thursday via Instagram, posing in Bulldogs gear by the grave of her mother, Michele Ann Siroky, who died in 2017 after a battle with cancer. Michele was a state championship swimmer in high school who went on to compete at Michigan State.
As a sophomore at Livonia Stevenson High School, Mckenzie Siroky won a Michigan state title in 2020 in the 100-meter breaststroke, setting a pool record with a time of 1 minute, 1.45 seconds. It was one of four events she participated in at last fall’s state meet.
This summer, the forward for the Detroit Honeybaked U16 hockey program took part in USA Hockey’s Girls 16/17 Player Development Camp and Girls Under-18 Select Player Development Camp. She finished with four goals and an assist in four games at the 16/17 camp and four goals in four games at the U18 camp.
