Amanda Sergent scored two of Wisconsin-Superior’s four second-period goals as the Yellowjackets dispatched Northland College 7-1 in the school’s WIAC opener Wednesday night at Wessman Arena.
UWS trailed 1-0 before Tessa Jordan’s goal in the final minute of the first period started a seven-goal run.
Sergent scored on a power play and again, shorthanded this time, 4:07 later for a 2-1 lead. Amber Heidenreich and Jenna Curtis added second-period goals, while Hannah Magnuson and Curtis closed the scoring in the third period.
UWS goaltender McKenzie Whalen made 10 saves in the victory.
