The Minnesota Wilderness hadn’t played a game in nearly two months before Friday night, and the Cloquet-based North American Hockey League team is still looking for its first goal in that span after a 3-0 loss to the host Janesville Jets.
The Jets scored three goals in a 3-minute, 27-second span of the second period, including two by Shane Ott. Charlie Schoen scored the first goal.
Janesville goaltender Riley Sims stopped all 20 shots while Kaleb Johnson totaled 18 saves for the Wilderness, who fell to 1-2-1 after playing their first game since Nov. 20. Every other team in the Central Division has played at least 10 games.
The teams meet again at 7 p.m. today at Janesville, Wisconsin.
