Hockey is returning to Amsoil Arena next week.

Well, in the parking lot, at least.

The Duluth Amateur Hockey Association and Duluth Entertainment Convention Center are hosting a drive-in viewing party for Games 1 and 2 of the NHL Stanley Cup Qualifiers between the Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2 and Tuesday, Aug. 4 on the big screen of the Amsoil Arena parking lot.

Tickets are $15 per vehicle and must be purchased ahead of time at as space is limited. Tickets will not be sold at the gate. A fundraiser for Duluth youth hockey, all proceeds will go toward supporting players and families in need of financial assistance for the upcoming season.

The parking lot to Amsoil Arena will open 90 minutes before puck drop and spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. Food trucks will be on site and a raffle will be held for a Minnesota Duluth jersey and Scott Perunovich poster.

The setup will be similar to the Greater Downtown Council’s Movies in the Park(ing) Lot, which has sold out all three showings at the DECC this summer.
