The North Shore Peewee B hockey team topped Grand Rapids 4-2 in the North Regional Tournament on March 1 in Moose Lake to qualify for the state tournament.

The Storm went 33-0 during the season, making them the first undefeated team from the North Shore to make it to the state tournament.

North Shore topped Thief River Falls 2-1 in the quarterfinals and survived an overtime battle with East Grand Forks in the semifinals. Cole Anderson scored the overtime goal to clinch the 6-5 win.

Anderson along with Ayden Althaus and Jacob Carpenter led the Storm in scoring and they got strong goaltending from Alexa Harrison and Gustaf Kindstrand.

The undefeated team of 11- and 12-year-olds from Silver Bay and Grand Marais were unable to compete in the state tournament because of the coronavirus pandemic.
