Jonny Pace's goal at 14:57 of the third was the game-winner in Wisconsin-Superior's 3-2 win over Wisconsin-Stout on Thursday in Menomonie, Wis.
Bruno Birzitis and Liam Blais assisted on Pace's goal, with improved the Yellowjackets to 7-7 in the WIAC and 14-7-3 overall. Stout is 5-9 in the league and 6-17-1. The teams complete the home-and-home series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Wessman Arena in Superior in the Yellowjackets' final regular-season game.
UWS' Troy York scored the first of his two goals at 9:33 of the first on assists from Liam Blais and Coltyn Bates. After Stout's Adam Kresl tied the game in the second period, York scored again on an assist from Chad Lopez at 13:14 of the second. Stout's Kobe Keller made it 2-2 with a goal early in the third.
UWS goalie Nick Althaus made 31 saves.
