COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s Tatum Skaggs scored go-ahead and game-winning goals and the Buckeyes’ defense stymied Minnesota Duluth for the most part in a 3-1 victory on Friday.

After a scoreless first period, Skaggs opened the scoring with a goal from Teghan Inglis and Emma Maltais at 13:21 of the second period.

UMD’s Gabbie Hughes netted the game-tying goal at 8:47 of the third on assists from Jalyn Elmes and Sydney Brodt.

But with OSU on the power play, Skaggs scored the eventual game-winner on assists from Gabby Rosenthal and Madison Bizal. Malthais added insurance with a goal at 19:54.

The Bulldogs and Buckeyes wrap their weekend series at 3:07 p.m. Saturday.

Lake Forest 6, St. Scholastica 5

Lake Forest scored three-straight goals in a 5 minute, 23 second span in the third period, then withstood two late St. Scholastica goals to win 6-5 on Friday in Lake Forest, Ill.

CSS’ Taylor Thompson and Kayla Kasel both scored two goals and Abby Pohlkamp notched the Saints’ other goal.

The teams play again at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lake Forest.
