College women's hockey: UMD's slump continues in loss to Bemidji State
Bemidji State tied Minnesota Duluth in the race for the final WCHA home-ice playoff spot with a 4-1 victory over the Bulldogs on Friday afternoon at Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn.
The Beavers host the Bulldogs for a final time during the regular season at 1:07 p.m. today.
Bemidji State (8-13-1 overall, 5-7-1 WCHA) has won six of its last seven games after starting the season 0-9-1. UMD (7-10-2, 4-7-2) is 2-7-1 in its last 10 games after a 5-3-1 start to the season.
Sophomore forward Lydia Passolt, who entered the series with one goal all season, scored twice for the Beavers in the first period. Sophomore goaltender Lauren Bench made 29 saves in the Beavers net.
Bulldogs junior goalie Maddie Rooney finished with 28 saves on 32 shots and sophomore forward Ashton Bell scored UMD's lone goal 4:49 into the second period on a power play.

UWS took the lead when Kaleigh Martinson tallied 53 seconds into the contest for her 12th goal of the season.
Concordia's Ally Hull tied the game midway through the third period as goalie Christina Pattengale stymied UWS by stopping its final 26 shots on goal.
Former UMD goalie Catherine Johnson stopped 31 shots for UWS.
Wis.-Superior 3, Bethel 1
Wisconsin-Superior snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Bethel University at Wessman Arena.
Martan Yelle, Pavel Mikhasenok and Artur Terchiyev scored for UWS (5-11-2) and Oscar Svensson picked up his first collegiate victory with 24 saves.
Adam Marty scored for Bethel (1-14-1) and Joe Sheppard finished with 31 saves.
Concordia, Wis. 4, St. Scholastica 2
Four players scored goals and Bo Didur made 26 saves in the Falcons’ NCHA win at Mequon, Wis.
Brandon MacKinnon, Nick Guerra, Eric Therrien and Josh Adkins tallied for Concordia (4-10-2, 2-6-1 NCHA), while Michael Talbot and Cole Golka scored for the Saints (9-6-1, 4-4-1).
