College hockey: CSS men knock off No. 4 Adrian

Carson Rose finished off a hat trick by scoring into an empty net with 25 seconds to play, giving St. Scholastica a 5-3 NCHA victory over fourth-ranked Adrian on Friday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Rose scored twice in the first period, sandwiching goals around one by Connor Armour of Adrian (8-3 overall, 5-2 NCHA).

Cory Dunn equalized in the second period for the Bulldogs before Nate Pionk of Hermantown and Cole Golka put the Saints (5-1-1, 3-1-1) up 4-2 at the end of two periods.

Trevor Boyd cut the deficit to one with 5:07 to play before Rose closed the scoring with Adrian having the extra attacker.

Nick Trenciansky was the winning goaltender with 22 saves.

Wis.-Superior 1, Wis.-Stout 1

The Yellowjackets and Blue Devils skated to an overtime tie in WIAC play at Wessman Arena.

Lucas Carroll scored unassisted for the Blue Devils with 2:01 remaining in the first period.

The Yellowjackets tied it when Pavel Mikhasenok scored with help from David Kaplan 9:18 into the third period.

A.J. Smith made 25 saves for UWS (3-6-2, 0-0-1), while Tommy Ahlgren stopped 41 shots for Stout (6-3-1, 0-1-1).


St. Scholastica 6, St. Norbert 0

The Saints scored four first-period goals and coasted to the NCHA win at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Greta Nundahl and Courtney Bloemke netted power-play goals in the opening period while Alexia Klaas of Duluth and Sam Gorecki added even-strength goals to make it 4-0.

Klaas extended her point-producing streak to eight games.

Rachel Anderson tacked on a goal midway through the second period and Paige Forsman closed the scoring in the final two minutes.

Former Ely goaltender Lori Huseby made 17 stops for CSS (6-3-1, 5-2 NCHA).

Audrey Moore saved 20 shots for the Green Knights (3-5-1, 3-3-1).
